Karan Mehta
Karan joined Octopus Ventures in 2018. He focuses on consumer opportunities, with a keen interest in gaming, mobile-first applications, consumer automation, augmented reality applications and the future of work.
He’s based in our New York office, where he also supports the US growth strategies of other portfolio businesses.
Karan learned the true value of tech while helping his family’s jewellery manufacturing business with its digital transformation. He later spun out two jewellery e-commerce businesses, including one that he scaled and successfully exited.
He previously founded Venture Project – a platform to help tech founders in New York with growth, fundraising, and customer and talent acquisition.
He’s also worked as an analyst in the securitised products group at bank JP Morgan and as a junior analyst at Peter Lee Associates, an Australian research and consulting firm.
Karan graduated from Fordham University with a BA in finance.
He’s an avid basketball player and an aspiring avatar influencer.
