Our People
Edward Keelan
Edward joined Octopus Ventures in 2008 and has invested across several sectors. Today, he focuses on B2B software, overseeing deal origination, execution and portfolio management, and sitting on the investment committee.
Edward started his career at Rolls-Royce in Bristol. But it didn’t take long to work out big companies weren’t for him, so he joined a startup called KorteQ.
Edward’s work at KorteQ gave him a deep understanding of what it meant to be part of an early stage team – and fuelled his enthusiasm for entrepreneurship.
Outside Octopus, he’s involved with the Entrepreneurship Centre at Saïd Business School, the University of Oxford, where he achieved an executive MBA. His role there involves talking on various subjects around early stage investing and mentoring companies connected to the University.
"Edward has been integral to the partnership between Countrywide Healthcare and Octopus. He is calm, thoughtful and insightful, and has been central to the success of our business since 2014. Edward also has the uncanny knack of quickly recognising and weighing up a situation, and giving sound advice and direction to achieve a successful outcome. I would not hesitate to recommend him as an investor or board member.”
